According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 10 to 30 percent of hot air from home furnaces escapes through openings that you might not even be aware of in the system’s ductwork. That’s a lot of wasted energy and a significant amount of unnecessary carbon emissions. Sealing the holes yourself with duct tape should only be a temporary measure. Have a professional assess and repair ductwork for maximum energy efficiency. Proper sealing also will cut down mold and dust that can circulate into your air.(br>
